This year has been another exciting and inspirational experience for the Singing Crusaders of West Michigan. We have felt the presence of God and His Holy Spirit at work at each of our concerts and have been blessed with many wonderful memories of people who personally thanked us for our ministry to them and their families.
It was a busy year of weekly practices and the usual bi-monthly concerts. We've ministered at many churches and care facilities in western Michigan as well as various summer venues such as the Christian Reformed Conference Grounds, Camp Geneva and Gun Lake Chapel.
Our annual spring concerts were held on April 13, 2014 at Spring Arbor College and on April 27, 2014 at First Reformed Church in Holland. Both concerts proved to be nights of praise to our God as we felt the spirit moving not only the crowd, but the guys themselves.
We continue to expand our horizons as we venture out of the West Michigan area. In 2006, we loaded buses for the Memorial Day weekend and ministered in Annapolis, Maryland at the United States Naval Academy and at various points in and around Washington D.C. In 2008, we again loaded buses and headed east to perform at the United States Military Academy at West Point and other venues in the New York area. We had the unforgettable honor of being able to sing at the Twin Towers Memorial site where the quietness of the crowd, as we sang 'God Bless America', was an emotional experience for us and those who gathered to listen. We completed a trip in October of 2012 to the naval base at Norfolk, Virginia where we were invited to sing as part of the Navy's annual Fleet Fest. We were able to sing on the deck of the aircraft carrier the USS Pataan as well as tour other ships in the area. We also took part in the Sunday worship service at the Navy Chapel on the base. Other venues included a Navy Veterans Hospital, Arlington National Cemetary and Colonial Williamsburg. An invitation to sing the National Anthem at a Grand Rapids Griffins hockey game, a Detroit Tigers baseball game on June 18 and a West Michigan Whitecaps baseball game on June 26 were other opportunities to showcase our talent. All trips are self-funded by the members who choose to participate. A new CD of our most recent numbers was recorded over the 2013 summer months and is now available from any member, at our concerts or from this website.
The schedule for 2014 offers us many more amazing opportunities. To help continue our mission of praising God and sharing the story of His love, would you consider becoming a vital part of our financial support team? Each gift, large or small, is very appreciated as well as your continued prayers for our ministry.
